The Gustavian Hand Dyed Variegated Embroidery Thread

Regular price $4.25 USD

Chalky light blues from the Gustavian era... I love this period, it's an 18th century 'world' that originated from Sweden with the most amazing interiors. King Gustav who the era is named after was a well educated, well travelled man who was charming and extravagant. Inspired by 18th century France he wanted to create a quieter simpler version of French splendor. I think the color says it all...

I would imagine this color is perfect for period pieces like samplers or anything subtle but where you want a not too intense blue. These shades  open up a whole new world of possibilities whether you like free style embroidery, just like to stitch here and there, all the time, or would just like to have a go for the first time!

The variations on the threads create a wonderful painterly effect on any of your project as each skein is individually dyed and has its own unique characteristics.
Hand dyed by Barbara with love with permanent colorfast dye.
